Colin Ross argues that most personality disorders come from trauma and dissociation. His book, "The Trauma Model", resonated better than anything else I ever read on the subject. He even suggests ways to test (and possibly disprove) his theory.
That may be the case with some personality disorders (especially BPD) but others are obvious by age 2 in the absence of abuse, trauma, or neglect. We’re not unshaped balls of clay- personality is evident early on and many can be spotted early. I’ll be sure to check out that book. Thanks for the recommendation :-)
Hi there Amelia 😊
I know that psychiatrists too often simply go into veterinarian mode.
The tend to treat patients as dumb animals who can't speak for themselves.....
This often is the cause for misdiagnosesouss and leeds to the patients getting the wrong treatment.
That's sad about your abusive boyfriend.
I'm glad your finally getting the help you need.
❤️
Thanks.
